About Us:
The Agostino Group is a 100% South Australian owned company with its head office based in Adelaide.  We own and operate a number of AMPM Petrol and Convenience stores across South Australia in addition to multiple fast-food restaurants including Carl’s Jr and Subway plus a Hotel Motel and caravan park in Glendambo.
The Agostino Group is currently seeking to appoint a Cook at our Glendambo Hotel, Motel and Caravan Park on the Stuart Highway 590km north of Adelaide.

The Role:
This role would ideally suit an individual keen to relocate to outback South Australia or someone looking for their next challenge.

Reporting to the Hotel Manager you will be responsible for independently coordinating all facets of the daily operations of the Kitchen under the guidance and support of the Hotel Manager. This includes driving food turnover, maintaining appropriate stock controls, monitoring of food standards and presentation, and providing supervision and support to the kitchen team as necessary.

Some of your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to;

  • Responsible for providing quality meals to all dining areas of the Hotel.
  • Menu planning which includes determining the appropriate menu based on seasonality and availability of stock.
  • Ordering and stock control.
  • Responsible for monthly stock take of kitchen.
  • To supervise, co-ordinate and train all staff working in the kitchen.
  • Ensure that excellent standards of cleaning and hygiene are maintained by all employees in the kitchen.
  • Monitor the performance of the kitchen and employees and report any incidents/performance issues to the Hotel Manager as soon as possible.
  • Actively enforce all Hotel policies and procedures, reporting any employee breaches to the Hotel Manager as soon as possible.
  • In consultation with the Hotel Manager roster kitchen staff in a cost-effective manner.
  • Ensure that the Kitchen is properly maintained and report any repairs/suggested changes to the Hotel Manager.
  • Perform any other duties as reasonably required by management.

About You:
You will be a mature minded professional who has previous experience in cooking in a commercial kitchen. You will have the ability to work well under pressure, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

You will possess a broad knowledge and experience with food cuisines in line with the hotel’s clientele. It will be essential you hold a sound understanding of food safety principles.

Previous experience working and living in remote environments would be advantageous but not essential.
